The Sturt Highway is closed all the way from Wagga to Hay. Eastbound detour from Hay - via Cobb and Mid Western Highways to West Wyalong, Newell Highway to Wyalong, Goldfields Way to Temora, and Burley Griffin Way to Wallendbeen, Harden and Binalong to the Hume Highway. Westbound detour from Wagga Wagga - via Olympic Highway, Sturt Highway, Coolamon Road (Wagga Road) to Coolamon, Ardlethan Road (Wagga Road) to Newell Highway (south of Ardlethan), then Newell Highway to West Wyalong, and Mid Western Highway to Hay.
